Proverbs 31 Woman

Last Friday, we had a Bible Study in our house. Our Pastor asked as what are the things we are thankful for. So, when it came to my husband, I was so surprised by things he said. Hearing my husband talk seriously is a once in a blue moon opportunity. So hearing what he said really meant a lot me.

He said he was thankful to God that he was given a woman that is found in Proverbs 31 as his wife. He said not everyone is blessed to have a wife of such kind. After hearing that, my ears clapped with glee (imagine how ears would clap, LOL!). Imagine?! He considers me a woman comparable to Proverbs 31!!!!

Now, why with all such happiness? Here, let me quote to you what a Proverbs 31 Woman is like…

The Virtuous Wife
Proverbs 31:10-31
10 An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her,
and he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good, and not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She seeks wool and flax,
and works with willing hands.
14 She is like the ships of the merchant;
she brings her food from afar.
15 She rises while it is yet night
and provides food for her household
and portions for her maidens.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
17 She dresses herself [5] with strength
and makes her arms strong.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable.
Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 She puts her hands to the distaff,
and her hands hold the spindle.
20 She opens her hand to the poor
and reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,
for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes bed coverings for herself;
her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates
when he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them;
she delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the time to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27 She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.

As you can see, the wife embodied by Proverbs 31 is the ideal wife for all. I have been meaning and praying to be one and now… my husband… The Husband… thinks I am a Proverbs 31 Wife!! Isn’t that blessed!!!

I really thank the Lord for this. I am so encouraged by what my husband have told our Pastor. God is so good! My husband sees value in me and I think our prayers were heard. :)

Our Planking Adventures

I guess most of you have heard about the planking girls of Korea. They started planking and what they have done went viral.

Now, what it planking? According to the urban dictionary, the art of planking is to lay horizontally across any object or the ground with their arms by their sides, aiming to occur in daring situations or a brotherly display of core-strength. While planking is defined as to lay horizontally in a strange or unusual place. To plank you must lay horizontally straighten your body and point your fingers and toes down (towards your feet), then you must name your “plank” and post a picture of the creator (of the plank) performing the pose on Facebook.

So, my husband and I decided to do our own planking. We wanted to do something adventurous and even humiliating at the same time. So the other day, we actually did it! Here are our planking photos…

Well, our planking wasn’t that humiliating at all. We enjoyed it and decided to plank again in a more daring and unique way. So stay tuned! LOL!
